On the 27th of each month Am I Not Human? bloggers post on the subject of human rights.
This month I would like to update my post from last month. I featured a story from The International Rescue Committee about a 10 year child who was working as a gold miner. At that time I asked that my readers to consider signing the petition that the IRC was sponsoring. (MBEV)
I am asking that if you did not visit the site last month, would you please consider doing so at this time. The organization is trying to get a total of 10,000 signatures on the petition. You can link to the IRC site here.
You can also support the cause of human rights by signing up for Amnesty Internationals Global Write-A-Thon. Here is the information on the Write-A-Thon:
You can promote freedom and human rights by joining Amnesty Internationals annual Global Write-a-thon, the world's largest letter writing event!
This global action marking International Human Rights Day on December 10 brings people together just about anywhere – in classrooms, churches, workplaces, homes, and more – to make a difference in the lives of prisoners of conscience, human rights defenders, victims of torture and other individuals at risk.
Using the proven power of writing letters, they will pressure authorities to release those who have been unjustly imprisoned and to stop the torture and abuse of others. (link)
Please visit Am I Not Human? You can learn more about different human rights issues. You can also obtain information on how to become a participating member.

I appreciate your support of the Am I Not Human? campaign. I signed the online petition last month. I'll check out this writing campaign as well.
I invite your blog readers to gain an understanding of hunger in America and around the globe.

Peace!
Thankyou for this update. I didn't know about the Global Writeathon.

27 is my favorite number, so that is a sign that I need to click right over and sign the petition.
Thanks for the post...
