Three Cheers and Hip Hooray it's Friday! A sista like myself is happy like I've got good sense! It has been a rough week on my part of the urban plantation. I surivived to tell the tale that the best beginning of a thing is often the end.
This week's OSF theme is:This is Dedicated To ___________. My choice is The Blackbyrds. If you don't know about this group you can check out their story here.
Now on to the music!
Thankful About Yourself is one of my favorite tunes by The Blackbyrds. I use to put on the LP City Life and crank up the stereo whenever this jam came on.
Happy Music is another classic Blackbyrd cut. This was a rolling down the road jam of ours back in the day! We'd hit the open road with this tune thumping inside of the ride.
You know how I do-a sista like myself has to break the posting rules. I had to add this classic tune Falling Like Dominoes. This is definitely a jam!
I've got to close out with my personal favorite by Donald Byrd and The Blackbyrds
Spaces and Places I've Been. This is still getting play on my music list. It describes how I view my life up to this moment.
Now that I've brightened my mood. I will wish you all a good OSF!

Awesome tribute!
The Blackbyrds were one of my mother's favorites so I grew up listening to these albums (which she still has!)
But my favorite was Places & Spaces!
Have a good weekend!
HAPPY OSF!!!
This is the AWWWWWWWWWESOMMEST i've seen today.
Ms. Lady Deborah,
A good friend returning from Viet Nam introduced me to Donald Byrd and the Blackbyrds; that sound was, alive, vibrant and constant.
Thanks for the memorable journey!
U
Thank you. Yes you did brighten my day.
You're right, this is happy music. :) I likes.
I agree with Shae...this makes you want to get up and do that "happy dance!"
Happy OSF!
Great choices! I haven't heard the Blackbyrds in many moons. Happy Music and Fallin' Like Dominoes are the two I remember the most. I don't recall hearing the other two before today ... however, I'm feeling Places and Spaces!
peace, Villager
