I have been fasting from watching MSM news coverage over the past couple of weeks. If Teddy Kennedy had not passed, I would probably still be acting as if my television did not work. But, I wanted to watch some of the coverage of his life and that lead to watching Countdown.
Why did I do that? I was okay until the story about Congresswoman Jenkins aired. Then my whole mood altered. As soon as the phrase The Great White Hope passed her lips-all I could do was nod my head in total disgust. I'm sick and damn tired of hearing how it was not someones intention to offend us.
It seems that Congresswoman Jenkins was not aware of the negative connotations attached to the phrase. Every time I have heard it I think of the play about Jack Johnson's career as a boxer.
I really think that the truth was told in that statement. In spite of Michael Steele's claim that he is moving to add diversity to the GOP, it seems that the supporters and politicians are moving in the opposite direction.
While President Obama is willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. I am not so generous with my feelings on the subject. I'm of the firm belief that there's a serious race-relations problem within the ranks of the conservative base in this nation. They are having too many slips of the lips to make me believe otherwise.
While Congresswoman Jenkins wants us to believe that she meant there were rays of light in the GOP, did anyone notice that everyone she named after making that statement was in fact, White? Ummm...that's not a Freudian slip. That is the truth in its raw form.
Oh well, while she is on the search for the GOP, what will Michael Steele be doing? Because if this trend continues he may find himself a Black man without a political party. Oops! I forgot, he already seems to be a man without a political party. He's just a Black face for the GOP. He really isn't in charge or control over what is happening. Congresswoman Jenkins didn't even mention his name as a ray of light. Perhaps if the discussion came up regarding the hired help or the house staff-Michael would of been duly recognized.

From the accusations (by birthers and conservatives) that the President:
1. Isn't an American citizen
2. Is a Nazi
3. Is a racist
4. Is a Muslim
5. Is a terrorist
It's obvious that they would like nothing better than to have the White House and presidency vacated.
What this speaks to is the long-standing fear maintained by insecure Whites who are afraid that payback has come because of the injustices purpetrated by Whites again people of color in America.
Why else do they need a "Great White Hope"?
There is no truth that will dissuad them from their psychotic thinking.

Michael Steele is over his head. He couldn't run the late shift at McDonalds. So..they are looking for the great white hope. Well let me know when he gets here....
I could not BELIEVE those words came out her mouth on one hand, but on the other hand, I was not surprised. I mean, WTF? I can't even form an excuse or understanding of such f*ry.
