I'm up in the middle of the night. I fell asleep earlier this evening while watching CBS. I'm not sure if I was tired or if their line up was just that boring....Anyway, I'm going to do my OSF post while I'm up. I have strange sleeping habits anyway. So being up in the middle of the night is nothing new to me. I'll be alert enough to finish up my week and dash out of the door like I stole something at clock out time.
This week the OSF theme is:Jumping The Broom. Now I had to think about what songs were played at my wedding. My marriage was dissolved years ago. And I haven't thought about jumpin' the broom again.
But as I recalled the music we played the first song that came to mind was Always There. I cannot find the version that we used. Which was a jazz insturmental. But thanks to You Tube there is a nice version by Incognito featuring Jocelyn Brown.
Needless to say that particular sentiment did not work in our case. Please don't get me wrong-I am cool with my ex.
The other song that I distinctly remember was the O'Jays singing Let Me Make Love To You:
So there you have it. These were two of the songs that I remember from my wedding day. If I had stayed married we would of celebrated our 25th Anniversary this past June. I'm good with how things turned out.
Old School Friday is the creation of MrsGrapevine and Marva the Marvalus One.
Have a good weekend. Try to stay cool! It supposed to be a hot one across our portion of the Union.

Watching Jocelyn may be one of the highlights of my day. I'm watching her twice. :-) And the O'Jays, can't do without them long.
This theme may be hard for some of us who've gone through divorce. I saw it and knew immediately what I would post but then debated whether I would post at all since I didn't want to do a love is always rosy thing nor did I want to be the wet blanket. For anyone who was married for as long as I was, the break up is complicated, especially with children involved, but as you say, "it's all good."
The healing process is a beautiful thing.
Happy OSF!
One more thing, speaking of crazy sleep patterns, I was up late last night, very late, and went all introspective and philosophical, "Out of the Ghetto: It's Late at Night, I'm Thinking." Your thoughts?
You do nice work in the middle of the night - LOL.
Happy OSF
OKAY!
I enjoyed the Icognito (always liked that group) and really, what's there to say about The O"Jays that hasn't been said already?
Nice picks! Happy OSF.
I love the Jocelyn Brown song...nice!
And the O'Jays...mmm!
Happy OSF...on Saturday/Sunday!!
Jumping the broom?! I had no idea that was correlated to weddings, but now I get it. :)
